Why get married in Church?
A marriage service is a public declaration of love and commitment to your partner. If you choose to get married in church there is an added dimension – the assurance that God cares about your relationship and his resources and strength are available to you.
So can I get married at St Martin’s?
If you would like to we will do everything we can to enable you to get married in church and help you with your special day.
Heres how it works
You have the legal right to marry in the Church of England parish church where you or your fiance(e) live.
If you don’t live in East Horsley you will need to establish a connection with the church. That means one of you:
- has lived in the parish for the last six months
- was baptised at St Martins
- has attended worship in the church for six months
- has a parent or grandparent connected with the parish
Even if you cannot demonstrate any of the above connections we want to help you explore whether it is possible to get married at St Martins so please speak to the Rector
What will it cost?
The fee is about £800 which includes church fees, banns, organist, choir, bells and administration.
